The Situation
In addition to helping ensure optimal care for patients, providing continuing professional development opportunities for all McGrath Breast Care Nurses is an essential part of the Foundation’s nurse strategy. The geographic spread of the Nurses in communities’ right across Australia presents challenges for supporting them with ongoing face-to-face education, particularly for topics where research and resulting treatments are continually evolving. The Foundation had already developed an eLearning strategy and implemented an open-source Learning Management System but required help with generating interactive and engaging content.
The Solution
Learnt was engaged by the McGrath Foundation to develop a series of interactive online learning modules and videos covering topics from Introduction to The McGrath Foundation to Metastatic Breast Cancer. We worked very closely with key stakeholders at the Foundation including a number of nursing experts and McGrath Breast Care Nurses who have day-to-day experience in the field. We were happy to work within the parameters of their existing technology as our instructional designers and content developers are able to deliver content that is suitable for any LMS.
